Contracts Manager

UJCES is looking for a dynamic mission driven person to join our team as contracts manager to work. If you are looking for a positive work experience and are up for a challenge we are right for you.

Overview:

Reporting to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Award: Assists in pre-award activities including reading proposal guidelines; collecting, composing, and/or preparing administrative components for proposal submissions; preparing applications, performing funding searches, developing and preparing budgets, and monitoring regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Post-Award: Perform in post-award activities including account creation, regulatory compliance monitoring, salary and insurance allocations and effort reporting, materials order processing, invoice preparation, payment processing, cost center charges, cost transfers, grant projections, grant closing processes and account closing.
  • Coordinates and ensures completion of monthly and annual reports. Work on ad hoc financial reports and serve as a point of contact.
  • Maintains contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of the contract correspondence, subcontract information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all projects.
  • Works on all aspects of government contract audits including pre-audit preparation of requested documents, actively participate in the auditor's site visit and follow up as needed.
  • Ensures timely contract close-out, extension or renewal, modifications, and monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing etc.).
  • Along with Executive Director presents monthly budget to actual financials (P and L) and contract variations to senior operating staff, explaining details, cause and effect, etc.
  • Manages contract audit, validates site billings, conducts audit of supporting documentation.
  • Reviews process and procedures relating to reporting and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting/Finance preferred.
  • Working Knowledge HHS Accelerator and Passport.
  • Three to four years' experience in the non-profit sector and interaction with senior/executive staff preferred.
  • Experience working with DHS, DOHMH, DFTA, HUD, and other funding agency contracts a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must this position will interact heavily with Human Resources, Program and operating staff and various government funding agencies.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet skills required (MS Office)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills required.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Financial analysis skills required.

Hours:

Full time. Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Fridays from 9 am to 2 pm.

 

Director of Development and Fundraising

Reporting to the CEO, this is an exciting opportunity for a driven, experienced, and innovative professional to establish a robust and development function.

In this newly created role, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) communicate the mission of UJCES, develop a fundraising strategy, expand and diversify UJCES’s donor base, and work with the UJCES team to increase restricted and unrestricted funds to further the mission of the UJCES. The CDO will work closely with the Board of Directors and support Board members as they take on more active fundraising roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and propose strategies for solicitation of major gifts, and manage an effective program for recognition, involvement, and stewardship for individual donors.
  • Prospect foundation grants, write and submit proposals, build funder relationships, submit timely grant reports and renewal proposals as appropriate.
  • Plan and coordinate grassroots fundraisers including work with members and staff to develop program and messaging, engage members as volunteers, and utilize member and ally networks for promotion.
  • Develop and oversee individual donor campaigns including online, major donor, and sustainer programs as well as member drives.

Program Director

We are looking for a dynamic Director to join our team of professionals. The Program Director position entails responsibility for the planning, direction, management and coordination of the administration development and delivery of quality care of patients. These functions originate from the standards set forth in the UJC manuals and application of the New York state licensure regulations. The intent of all these functions leads to the ultimate objective of overall excellence in patient care and agency operations. The program director reports directly to the Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the day to day operations
  • Supervise professional staff
  • Develops agency policies and procedures
  • Ensure a system of efficiency and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Acts as liaison among the Advisory Committee and QA committee
  • Negotiate contracts

Requirements:

  • The position will require a Master’s Degree. Social Work, Business Administration, Public Administration preferred
  • At least 5 years experience in Home Care Management
 

Case Manager

United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES), a CBO on the Lower East side of Manhattan is looking for a dynamic person to join our team of professionals as the Social Worker for our senior center.

Education: Minimum BA/BSW required and supervised casework experience with seniors preferred.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of types of entitlement/benefits for older people, and eligibility and application requirements.
  • Knowledge of local and citywide resources for older persons.
  • Ability to accurately prepare entitlement applications and to assist clients in completing applications.
  • Interviewing, assessment, and case note writing skills.
  • Ability to make appropriate referrals and to follow up in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with clients empathetically and respectfully.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide case assistance and case management (according to DFTA guidelines) to seniors.
  • Provide home visits to the frail elderly for the purpose of assessing the client’s eligibility for the UJC homebound lunch program.
  • Provide home visits to do reassessments on a six-month basis of clients already on the lunch program.
  • Provide home visits to the frail elderly who need assistance with benefits and entitlements, financial arrears, assessing clients’ needs for home care and other supportive services that will enable them to remain safe in the community.
  • Provide information and referral to walk-in clients or to those who call for assistance.
  • Assist clients who can come to the office with a wide array of services. These services include providing entitlement and benefits counseling and assessing the client’s eligibility for benefits and entitlements, completing applications for SSA, SSI, SSD, public assistance, food stamps, etc.
  • Register clients in PDS and A2B programs.
  • Complete monthly statistical reports documenting case assistance and information and referral.
  • Accompany clients to city benefit offices such as public assistance, social security, Medicaid, and HRA to advocate on their behalf at fair hearings and for the application process.
  • Pre-screen clients for Medicaid.

The Social Worker will report to the Director of the Senior Center

Salary: $50,000 a year plus fringes.
