Director of Development and Fundraising

Reporting to the CEO, this is an exciting opportunity for a driven, experienced, and innovative professional to establish a robust and development function.

In this newly created role, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) communicate the mission of UJCES, develop a fundraising strategy, expand and diversify UJCES’s donor base, and work with the UJCES team to increase restricted and unrestricted funds to further the mission of the UJCES. The CDO will work closely with the Board of Directors and support Board members as they take on more active fundraising roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and propose strategies for solicitation of major gifts, and manage an effective program for recognition, involvement, and stewardship for individual donors.
  • Prospect foundation grants, write and submit proposals, build funder relationships, submit timely grant reports and renewal proposals as appropriate.
  • Plan and coordinate grassroots fundraisers including work with members and staff to develop program and messaging, engage members as volunteers, and utilize member and ally networks for promotion.
  • Develop and oversee individual donor campaigns including online, major donor, and sustainer programs as well as member drives.
