Artist of the Month│Audrey Rosenberg
Earlier this year we enlisted the help of the UJC Senior Center's members and art instructors, as well as local artists, to put together an art gallery with the hope of bringing joy to our community.
Every month we'll be sharing interviews with the artists that collaborated with the project.
Audrey Rosenberg│Manhattan, NYC
Audrey Rosenberg is an artist based in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NYC.
When did you start painting?
I did not paint until I retired 10 years ago and my first painting class was here at the UJC.
You kindly allowed us to use one of your pieces for our calendar. Can you tell me about the inspiration behind this piece?
The picture I chose for the calendar was one of my favorites because I'm always partial to winter scenes and I loved the park setting.
What's your favorite thing about NYC?
NYC is a great place to live and offers so much inspiration for all types of the arts. I especially like to spend time along the waterfronts and ride my bike to sit along the river. My favorite spot is Governors Island. It's so close to Manhattan yet feels like another world.
